Project Update
Work
on the first phase of a project to rehabilitate the Airport's primary
runway 9/27 is complete.
Airport Director Dan Mann said the first phase costs $6 million. When
the remaining three phases of the project are complete
in 2009 it will cost a total of $47 million.... more

Bags and Boots Provided
Several customer
initiatives have recently been implemented to ease the traveler's
experience when flying out of The Eastern Iowa Airport.
Plastic, zip-top bags and
paper booties are now available before going through security
checkpoint. The bags provide an easy way for people to place all their
lose items - such as change, keys and cell phones - in one sealable bag.
Then bag can then be placed in the container used by the Federal
Transportation Security Administration to move items through the X-ray
machine.
The bags can also be used
as part of the latest TSA security rules on bringing liquids, gels
or aerosols on board the plane. The TSA now allows up to 3 ounces of
liquids or gels in carry-on luggage, but all such items must fit in
one quart-size plastic bag.... more

As the Airport Director,
I frequently receive input and feedback from Corridor residents
regarding The Eastern Iowa Airport and I truly appreciate the direct
line of communication that has begun to form. Without the feedback,
whether a compliment or constructive criticism, it would be difficult
to know what is important to our customers, what their perceptions
are, and how we can improve the airport in ways that better meet the
