Sara Yount joined
the The Eastern Iowa Airport in July. Yount, a native of Palo and a Kennedy
High School graduate, is the Airport's new
Director of Operations. The DO is responsible for managing the safety
and maintenance of the airport by enforcing safety regulations, monitoring
compliance and coordination of issues.
Yount has extensive airport experience,
including holding similar positions at Little Rock National Airport
and Central Illinois Regional Airport. She also served as an aircraft
rescue firefighter and medical first responder at the Springfield-Branson
National Airport.
Theresa
Hynek has joined the TEIA Public
Safety Department. Hynek's hometown is Swisher and she is a 2004
Prairie High school grad. She has received her associate's degree in
fire science from Kirkwood Community College.
Hynek is the second
woman in the Public Safety Department's history to have worked
as an Airport officer.

Two long-time CID employees recently retired. Ray
Davis, formerly a Safety Officer I, retired in October after more
than 13
years of service. Elizabeth Beets, a Terminal Maintenance
Worker 1 retired in November after more than 19 years of service.

St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids has donated two
wheelchairs to The Eastern Iowa Airport. Laura Rainey, director of
Marketing and Communications for the hospital said the hospital was
glad to be able to help provide additional wheelchairs to those that
the Airport and Airlines provide. "We know there are many people who
need some assistance when traveling and we were happy to help," Rainey
said
