Another month - another
record broken at Airport
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sept. 24, 2007 - The Eastern Iowa Airport set another passenger record in August when 91,633 passengers chose the Corridor facility for their business and leisure travel. The latest record-breaking figures represent a 10.8% increase in total passengers compared to August 2006. The number of enplaned passengers was 44,134 and the number of deplaned passengers was 47,499. August 2005 marked the previous record with 82,879 total passengers. Enplaned passengers for that month and year were 40,031 and deplaned passengers were 42,848. Airport Director Dan Mann said he expects the airport will post its third consecutive year of record calendar year totals. From Jan. 1 to Aug. 31, 2006 the total number of passengers was 685,102. For the same time period in 2007 the total number is 717,778. Officials are anticipating another boost in numbers starting Oct. 25 when Allegiant Air begins its non-stop flight Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in Arizona. |
