Airport Breaks November Record

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dec. 14, 2006 – The Eastern Iowa Airport has posted another total passenger record for the month of November.

The total number of passengers who flew in and out The Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) in November was 85,413. The previous record for November was set in 2000 with a total of 84,125 passengers.

Airport Director Dan Mann said this most recent record-breaking figure will help the Airport exceed its calendar year total set in 2005 with 1,004,265 passengers who used The Eastern Iowa Airport.

Final passenger figures for 2006 will get a boost with approximately 520 passengers who are taking charter flights to San Antonio to watch the University of Iowa’s football team play in the Alamo Bowl Dec. 30. Three charters depart from CID on Dec. 28 and will return Dec. 31.
